BRITISH AIRWAYS (BA) Flight 677
Departs: ISTANBUL, TURKEY (IST) 3:50 pm
Arrives: HEATHROW-LONDON, UNI (LHR) 6:05 pm
Non-stop--BOEING 757
Had to bite my tongue so as not to laugh at stupid Americans in the
passport control queue in Heathrow who were wondering if London has
quiches. If not, what will the poor things eat while they're there?

Terrible food at Garfunkels, presumably a tourist trap for Americans
looking for food as bad as you get in America. When combined with
British service, this is quite a scary thing.
Tragic double-decker bus tour. Included boat ride up the Thames which
was more fun. Met an older American woman who was back to say goodbye
to the memory of her husband - they'd lived in London for 16 years. She
reminded me of Mrs McKinnon.
Bought t-shirts, including one that says 'Barbie is a slut'. Spur of
the moment trip to Brighton for the night.

Saying goodbye sucks. After thinking about it the
whole trip, I've finally decided not to think about it.
JL402 London 7:45pm to Tokyo 3:20pm (11 hours, 35 mins)
'Barbie is a slut' t-shirt possibly not the best to wear on the long
trip home cos I have to keep hiding it from little kids (I don't want to
be responsible for starting a conversation like that) but it keeps me amused.

JL771 Tokyo 9:10pm to Sydney 7:35am
Inflight movie: Mission to Mars. Annoying and too gung-ho Americans go
to Mars where they meet an alien who gives them a multimedia
presentation. The chick has obviously had one of those injections that
relax the facial muscles cos she can't move most of her face.

QF423 Sydney 10:00am to Melbourne 11:20am
Home. It's fucking freezing in Melbourne - my breath was frosting as
Brig and I walked to her car, and it's raining and grey. I'm going to
be naughty and have a nap in a bit - fuck the jetlag, it'll just be nice
to sleep horizontally and in something that doesn't have a jet engine.
Damn living in Australia, it's taken me a day of travelling to get home.
